And Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab. |
| 1:2 | | 亞哈謝在撒瑪利亞，一日從樓上的欄杆裡掉下來，就病了；於是差遣使者說：「你們去問以革倫的神巴力西卜，我這病能好不能好。」
And Ahaziah fell down through the lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I shall recover of this sickness. |
| 1:3 | | 但耶和華的使者對提斯比人以利亞說：「你起來，去迎著撒瑪利亞王的使者，對他們說：『你們去問以革倫神巴力西卜，豈因以色列中沒有神嗎？』
But the angel of Jehovah said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it because there is no God in Israel, that ye go to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? |
| 1:4 | | 所以耶和華如此說：『你必不下你所上的床，必定要死！』」以利亞就去了。
Now therefore thus saith Jehovah, Thou shalt not come down from the bed whither thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. And Elijah departed. |
| 1:5 | | 使者回來見王，王問他們說：「你們為什麼回來呢？」
And the messengers returned unto him, and he said unto them, Why is it that ye are returned? |
| 1:6 | | 使者回答說：「有一個人迎著我們來，對我們說：『你們回去見差你們來的王，對他說：耶和華如此說，你差人去問以革倫神巴力西卜，豈因以色列中沒有神嗎？所以你必不下所上的床，必定要死。』」
And they said unto him, There came up a man to meet us, and said unto us, Go, turn again unto the king that sent you, and say unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, Is it because there is no God in Israel, that thou sendest to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from the bed whither thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. |
| 1:7 | | 王問他們說：「迎著你們來告訴你們這話的，是怎樣的人？」
And he said unto them, What manner of man was he that came up to meet you, and told you these words? |
| 1:8 | | 回答說：「他身穿毛衣，腰束皮帶。」王說：「這必是提斯比人以利亞。」
And they answered him, He was a hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite. |
| 1:9 | | 於是，王差遣五十夫長，帶領五十人去見以利亞，他就上到以利亞那裡；以利亞正坐在山頂上。五十夫長對他說：「神人哪，王吩咐你下來！」
Then [the king] sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he was sitting on the top of the hill. And he spake unto him, O man of God, the king hath said, Come down. |
| 1:10 | | 以利亞回答說：「我若是神人，願火從天上降下來，燒滅你和你那五十人！」於是有火從天上降下來，燒滅五十夫長和他那五十人。
And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty. |
| 1:11 | | 王第二次差遣一個五十夫長，帶領五十人去見以利亞。五十夫長對以利亞說：「神人哪，王吩咐你快快下來！」
And again he sent unto him another captain of fifty and his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly. |
| 1:12 | | 以利亞回答說：「我若是神人，願火從天上降下來，燒滅你和你那五十人！」於是神的火從天上降下來，燒滅五十夫長和他那五十人。
And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty. |
| 1:13 | | 王第三次差遣一個五十夫長，帶領五十人去。這五十夫長上去，雙膝跪在以利亞面前，哀求他說：「神人哪，願我的性命和你這五十個僕人的性命在你眼前看為寶貴！
And again he sent the captain of a third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious in thy sight. |
| 1:14 | | 已經有火從天上降下來，燒滅前兩次來的五十夫長和他們各自帶的五十人；現在願我的性命在你眼前看為寶貴！」
Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and consumed the two former captains of fifty with their fifties; but now let my life be precious in thy sight. |
| 1:15 | | 耶和華的使者對以利亞說：「你同著他下去，不要怕他！」以利亞就起來，同著他下去見王，
And the angel of Jehovah said unto Elijah, Go down with him: be not afraid of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the king. |
| 1:16 | | 對王說：「耶和華如此說：『你差人去問以革倫神巴力西卜，豈因以色列中沒有神可以求問嗎？所以你必不下所上的床，必定要死！』」
And he said unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down from the bed whither thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. |
| 1:17 | | 亞哈謝果然死了，正如耶和華藉以利亞所說的話。因他沒有兒子，他兄弟約蘭接續他作王，正在猶大王約沙法的兒子約蘭第二年。
So he died according to the word of Jehovah which Elijah had spoken. And Jehoram began to reign in his stead in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son. |
| 1:18 | | 亞哈謝其餘所行的事都寫在以色列諸王記上。
Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? |
